Movie choices were limited unless you were Japanese - heaps in Japanese.
Once in Tokyo, we cleared Immigration and Customs then walked straight out to follow Marni's fabulous instructions. "Get the bus BUT get a few snacks beforehand because the shop in the airport is awesome and insanely Japanese". Matthew and I purchased some mystery snacks and nabbed pole position on a swanky luxury bus. The trip was 6,000 Y, around AUD30 each. For the 80km trip - good value and it was nice to see some of the sights are we drove in to Tokyo.
I must say at this point how much easier it is to travel on your own.... all those other travellers everywhere blissful unaware of how easy travel it. Matthew and I both commented that we think the worst years of travelling with children are behind us as the cheeky monkey Harper is 3.5yrs now.
The hotel is luxurious and well positioned. The deep-bowing Reception lady was so polite and sweet and gave me some "chocorates" for my impending birthday. Yummo!
We basically, threw our stuff in the room and headed out tooooooooo Tokyo! We walked one block and fund an interesting German meets Tokyo restaurant with only 4 tables. We love German food so it was perfect for our weary selves. 2 enormous yard glasses of German beer for Matthew and 2 miniature glasses of white wine for me.
It is genetically impossible for me to not mention the weather - cool, perfect. I hope we have a week like this, high teens, low twenties.
Once back at the hotel we unpacked - BTW, I never unpack, but I did for my 6 days holiday here. Had a shower and lights out. Exhausted. I hope that I do not end up writing the word "exhausted"too much.
